Snowdon Horseshoe

Robin Rowling ARPS

How my landscape and seascape images are created:

After the initial subject is selected an initial site visit takes place to determine the photographic environment.  The second phase is to carefully predict when the required light qualities will be available; this involves calculating the correct position of the sun, which will be determined by the time of year and the time of day.  Having established this short window of photographic opportunity in the calendar year, several site visits may become necessary to capture the exact quality of the light in relation to the photographic subject.

I work with traditional medium format film cameras and lenses, using fine quality transparency film to create the desired image.

Many of my landscape and seascape images relate to the West Country and particularly Cornwall. Images are available crafted onto a canvas wrap over wooden stretcher bars and may be hung without framing.

Example: A 20” x 16” canvas is approximateley £90.00 including postage and packing.

If you are interested in purchasing a canvas (or wish me to undertake a commission) please contact me, details below. I will then post you a sheet of full colour thumbnails from my current portfolio. Once you have made your selection and remitted the appropriate payment it is usually about ten days before you receive the canvas ready to hang.

My images have been used by the National Trust, Ordnance Survey, English Heritage, leading West Country tourism web sites and a number of organisations promoting the beautiful scenery of the West Country.  Stretched, block mounted canvases and framed art quality prints have been sold to a wide public audience over the past few years. These sales include commissions for specific works to enhance interior décor in private houses and commercial premises.
